Star Mine Part II
Created 4/7/06
Jeff just inside of one of the adits on the west side. Not that there is a board across the entrance. (10/15/05)
This is why. This is a hole from this adit to one of the ones below it. I believe that the one below this was dug after this one
because there is not enough debris in the lower one, and the rails are still in place in this adit behind the hole only, which is
the only one that has this. Except for the older adits shown on the first part of the Star Mine. (10/15/05)
This is looking down the hole in the upper adit at Jeff in the lower adit. You can clearly see that there is some debris within
the lower adit, but not the amount that would have come from this hole. (10/15/05)
This is looking across the hole to the rails that lay beyond still in place. Unfortunately, we deemed too dangerous to try
and cross this hole to see if the tracks continued. (10/15/05)
There is one truth about the mines in this draw. As you continue to climb uphill from the road, the openings become smaller
and smaller, and less obvious, like this one. (10/15/05)
This adit opening is completely shut, and is less obvious than the ones before. (10/15/05)
We searched around above this adit, but couldn't find anything else. This is probably the highest adit on the eastern side
of the draw, and probably doesn't go back that far. If in fact, it is an adit and not an exploratory hole. (10/15/05)
