Oil City Road
Created 12/12/2008
This is one of the few historical roads that peaks my interest, but it really was a cool find. In tracing it, it would seem
that this was the original road into Oil City, and was later replaced by the present Oil City Road. There was one small
bridge present in the stretch that I looked at, but it was mostly rotten and covered in sallal.
This old power insulator hanging from a snag was found next to the old plank road. Although I looked, I
couldn't find any more in the short stretch of road. (6/17/08)
These photos show about a 300ft stretch of the road and are still in beautiful condition. (6/17/08)
This tree shown below was a very interesting cedar tree that was along the old plank road. I do not know when it
happened, but someone enlarged an already existing hole in the tree so that they could enter it and use it as shelter.
There is enough room to sit or stand. (6/17/08)
